Never underestimate the power of nostalgia. Sometimes it can mean the creation of a show like CBS’ Clarice which captures the magic of an iconic film to tell the story from a different lens. Other times it means hunkering down to watch a cult classic TV mystery like Twin Peaks.

There’s just something about ’90s television that screams eternal and Twin Peaks is a part of that legacy. If you’re in the know, you can’t watch The CW’s Riverdale without seeing the show’s influence on the series (No, we don’t just mean Mädchen Amick’s presence on both).

A murder in a sleepy, small town. Nothing quite being what it seems. An aesthetic that begs to be replicated. A mystery that’s methodically revealed, unveiling truths some of the townsfolk hoped wouldn’t see the light of day.

Twin Peaks was the blueprint. The series created by David Lynch and Mark Frost is touted as one of the most influential and groundbreaking TV shows to ever air, and it all began with the murder of homecoming queen Laura Palmer.

Where to stream Twin Peaks

If you’re looking to make a return visit to Twin Peaks, or watch the series for the first time, the show is one of the few available to stream on multiple platforms.

Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+ have both seasons of the show, which means you can watch FBI special agent Dale Cooper work to solve Laura’s murder from whatever streaming platform is most convenient to you out of these three.

As for the series sequels, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me–the feature film that chronicles Laura’s last days–is available to stream on HBO Max. The Showtime limited series, Twin Peaks: The Return–set 25 years after the original series–is available to stream through Showtime or Hulu if you subscribe to their Showtime channel.
