Watch This Is Us Season 5, Episode 13 live on NBC

Tonight’s episode of This Is Us might be the most important episode since Jack’s death on Super Bowl Sunday. Tonight is the night where the Pearson brothers have “The Talk.”

Before the brothers discuss their differences, there were other men that needed to hash out their problems on last week’s episode. Mainly, Uncle Nicky had a bone to pick with the world’s nicest man, Miguel, for marrying his older brother’s sister.

Nicky unfairly took a cheap shot at Miguel, berating him for marrying Rebecca after Jack died. Miguel showed great restraint and said there’s not a day that goes by where he questions if he did the right thing by marrying Rebecca. Nicky later apologized, and the two bonded over the one person that brings everyone together, Jack.

Nicky and Miguel weren’t the only Pearson family members arguing. In Philadelphia, Beth and Tess got into an argument after Beth walked in on Tess and her new girlfriend, Alex, sharing a close moment on the bed.

Beth vented to Carol, discussing how she now accepts Tess as queer despite Beth’s prior dreams of her daughter marrying a man. Carol explained how it’s not good enough for Beth to just accept it. Beth needs to adjust and adapt, something Carol didn’t do previously with her own daughter.

At the end of the episode, Kevin finally called Randall and asked if he would be his best man, to which Randall agreed. When Kevin tried to bring up their argument, Randall declined to talk, and said the duo agreed to do it in person.

However, Kevin said he would fly to Randall’s home in order to have the talk about race, their childhood, and their future as brothers. Randall accepted Kevin’s offer, and the sit-down is on. Expect an episode that will push the brothers’ bond to the limit.
