I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to hang with my favorite group of Pogues again. Outer Banks Season 2 will hopefully arrive on Netflix within the next few months.

Outer Banks was a smash hit so renewing the show for a second season was a no-brainer. Unfortunately, the show could not immediately go into production after the first season debuted in April 2020 due to the pandemic.

Thankfully, Season 2 began production towards the end of August 2020. In March 2021, production moved to Barbados to act as the Bahamas for the show. In April 2021, production on Season 2 wrapped.

Now, we eagerly await the return of Outer Banks. The series provided multiple cliffhangers in the Season 1 finale. Using this information, here are three strong predictions we think will happen in Outer Banks Season 2.

John B’s mother will be revealed on Outer Banks

Much of Season 1 revolved around the disappearance of John B’s father, “Big John,” who left behind clues for his son to find the treasure of the Royal Merchant. However, almost nothing was revealed about John B’s unnamed mother. John B said his mother left when he was a toddler, but didn’t give a reason as to why.

JJ, Pope, and Kiara believe John B is dead even though he survived the storm. With the authorities believing John B to be dead, they will reach out to the only immediate family member that’s alive, his mother, who will show up to town and reveal herself to the audience.

Kiara will find out that John B and Sarah are alive

At some point, Kiara, JJ, and Pope will learn that their best friends, John B and Sarah Cameron, survived the storm. It’s only a matter of time.

How will they find out? The answer is unknown, but if I had to predict who will learn about this news first, my money is on Kiara.

John B and Kiara had such a strong connection in Season 1 that he even kissed her. Also, Kiara and Sarah used to be best friends as kids. If John B and Sarah reach out to anyone first, it will be to their most reliable friend, Kiara.

Ward Cameron will buy his way out of jail

At the end of Season 1, John B reveals over the radio that Ward killed his father and framed him for Sheriff Peterkin’s murder. Deputy Shoupe appeared to arrest Ward shortly afterward. However, Ward knows he must get to Nassau to retrieve his gold.

Ward proved that he will do anything to get the gold so expect Ward to cut a deal with Sheriff Peterkin or another officer to avoid prison. Perhaps he might offer up some of the gold he stole as a bargaining chip with the police.
