The horror movie The Conjuring 3 is now playing in theaters and streaming on HBO Max. But while you may want to rush out to theaters with the family to enjoy movies on the big screen again, is this movie appropriate for kids?

Movies are back! More and more movies are debuting in theaters, some, such as A Quiet Place 2even exclusively in theaters. This means they are not streaming anywhere so to watch the movie, you’ll need to go to a theater near you.

That said, it’s normal for families who are used to going to the movies, to want to go to theaters, order a large popcorn, drink, and snacks. But trust me, this should only be the case when the movie is appropriate.

The Conjuring 3 follows another case from the Warren files, and, while not the most frightening from the trilogy, it’s certainly the most unique story. It centers on Arnen Johnson, a man arrested for stabbing his landlord to death.

Ed and Lorraine Warren argue that he was possessed, but it’s up to the court to decide.

What is The Conjuring 3 rated?

As much as you may want to take the family to watch The Conjuring 3, I would reconsider. Now, each kid is different and you know them best! So only you can decide if they can handle this horror movie.

The Conjuring 3 is rated R for terror, strong disturbing images, and violence. I’d say the violence is pretty strong, we are talking about possessions and demons, after all.

If your family loves horror movies (or they’ve watched the first two Conjuring installments), they can handle this one, as it’s the least frightening of the three. At least in my opinion. Remember, this is only my opinion, it’s really up to you to decide.
