Are you ready to re-enter the mind of Lil Dicky in Dave? The sophomore season of the hit comedy series premieres tonight on FXX.

For those new to the world of Lil Dicky, Burd is a rapper known for his hysterical lyrics and comedic videos. From rapping about saving money to sexual frustration, Lil Dicky won fans over with his witty persona.

In 2020, Burd took his talents to television with the comedy series, Dave, which is loosely based on Burd’s real life. Burd stars as a fictionalized version of Lil Dicky as he tries to make a name for himself in the music industry. To call the first season a giant success would be an understatement. By the end of Season 1, Dave was FX’s most-watched comedy series ever.

The series successfully toes the line between juvenile jokes and thoughtful storylines. Yes, there are a lot of penis jokes, but that’s to be expected because of Burd’s stage name and the real-life condition he suffers from, Hypospadias. Despite genital jokes, Dave also managed to include emotional and powerful storylines, most notably with GaTa, Lil Dicky’s hypeman who suffers from bipolar disorder.

Dave Season 2 details

In Season 2, Lil Dicky will look to capitalize on his newfound fame and record contract achieved at the end of Season 1. The Season 2 trailer teases Lil Dicky having trouble coming up with new songs for his album. The notoriety does have its perks as Lil Dicky is seen hanging out with models Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, and Elsie Hewitt.

"FXX’s new series DAVE is centered on a neurotic man in his late twenties who has convinced himself that he’s destined to be one of the best rappers of all time. Now he must convince his closest friends, because with their help, he actually might convince the world. The half-hour comedy is based on the life of rapper and comedian Dave Burd. The series is produced by FX Productions."

Dave will air the first two episodes of Season 2 tonight back-to-back. Dave airs on FXX, but can be seen the next day on Hulu.
