Watch Dave season 2, episode 3 live on FXX tonight

If last week’s episodes of FXX’s Dave were a preview of what’s to come, then Lil Dicky’s downward spiral will only get worse.

For better or for worse, Dave can’t stay out of his own way. His genius is his own worst enemy. He is tone-deaf and oblivious, which leads to GaTa, Mike, Elz calling him out for his blind spots.

In the first episode, Dave travels to Korea to film a K-pop video with rapper, CL. Lil Dicky sees K-pop as a “cheat code” for his new album because of its popularity. However, it becomes more and more clear that Lil Dicky has no respect for the genre nor its culture, leading CL to leave the set of the video. To make matters worse, Lil Dicky has nothing else written for his album so he lost his one and only song.

In the second episode, Dave is back in Los Angeles, and his label rents a luxurious house in the Hollywood Hills where he can work on the debut album. However, he can’t concentrate on the music as he becomes fixated on an ant infestation as well as his lingering feelings for Ally. When Mike confronts him about the album, Dave fights back and blames a minuscule problem like the ants for his writer’s block.

Dave season 2, episode 3 details

Episode 3 marks the return of Benny Blanco, the talented producer who strikes up a friendship with Lil dicky. Benny is more successful than Lil Dicky, but he’s arguably more tone-deaf and ridiculous. The promo highlights Benny and Dave’s relationship reaching new and awkward heights. GaTa even questions if they are more than just friends. Expect the end result to be something you will be talking about for weeks.
