No. 2 Die Hard is set during a Christmas holiday

So exactly how much of Die Hard is set during Christmas? Well, the entire Die Hard movie is set during the Christmas holiday. In fact, beginning to end is Christmas Eve.

Nakatomi Plaza is decorated with bells, stars, tinsel. Greens and reds are sprinkled throughout. And despite having to go to a lame office party on Christmas Eve, everyone in the place is cheery.

Moreover, the airport scene makes Christmas very apparent. When John McClane gets in his limo, he’s carrying a massive teddy bear. It’s obviously a Christmas gift, and it’s nearly as big as his limo driver Argyle.

There are homemade cards lining a glass barrier. Holly and ivy make it more than a children’s collection of poorly made cards. The final proof is a neatly wrapped Christmas gift on the counter behind her.

The sound of Christmas carols in the background is just music to the ears of believers that Die Hard qualifies as a Christmas movie.
