Who is Sarah Paulson playing in American Horror Story: Double Feature?

Joining the evergrowing list of characters Sarah Paulson has portrayed on American Horror Story  (Billie Dean Howard, Lana Winters, Cordelia Goode, Bette & Dot Tattler, Hypodermic Sally, Shelby Miller, Audrey Tindall, Ally Mayfair Richards, Sexy Sadie, Wilhemina Venable) is “TB Karen,” who will appear throughout the first six episodes of Red Tidethe first half of Double Feature.

Paulson first spoke about her next Horror Story character back in February during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, before she filmed anything for the season:

"“The character I’m playing this year on Horror Story has some issues, let’s just put it that way. I have a hair color I’ve never had in life nor in the show. That’s what I can tell you. And I have a great name. I have a great name.”-Sarah Paulson"

A combination of filming reports and leaked information (later confirmed through cryptic hints via the official American Horror Story social media accounts) revealed Paulson’s troubled Red Tide character to be named TB Karen: a pink-haired, homeless resident of Provincetown who likely has lung disease Tuberculosis, hence the “TB” — check here and here for a sneak peek at the character!

On the flip side, very little is known about Paulson’s Death Valley character. It’s common knowledge that the second installment of Double Feature will at least partially take place during the 50s-60s, and will see extraterrestrials appear on American Horror Story for the first time since 2013 in Asylum. Past Presidents of the United States will also appear as characters on the show, alongside cultural icon Marilyn Monroe. Could Paulson also be portraying a real-life person?

When does American Horror Story: Double Feature premiere?

The first two episodes of Double Feature will premiere on August 25 on FX, with the 10-episode season scheduled to conclude by Halloween.

Joining Sarah Paulson in Red Tide is Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, Frances Conroy, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Angelica Ross, and Macaulay Culkin. Death Valley is set to star Paulson, John Carroll Lynch, Mike Vogel, Alisha Soper, Craig Sheffer, alongside other (currently unannounced) names.
