Motherland: Fort Salem season 2 is one step closer to its finale with the penultimate episode, “Mother of All, Mother of None,” set to change the game.

Last week, “Delusional” pit the Bellweather unit and Scylla against each other as they struggled to navigate Nicte’s tricks during a mission to capture her. Though Alder had given the kill order, it was Petra who set the girl’s on a path to bring the leader of the Spree in.

Their success brought Nicte and Alder face-to-face for the first time in decades, the result of which is no doubt going to have explosive consequences in “Mother of All, Mother of None.”

Based on the episode title, we’re in for an Alder centered episode. The general has been the leader of the nation’s witch army for well over three centuries. The bodies she’s buried, the secrets she’s kept, will they spill forth before the world in episode 9?

All signs are pointing to some kind of shake-up, that’s for sure.

Alder’s authority is questioned in Motherland: Fort Salem season 2 episode 9

All season the truth about Alder’s decision making in the Liberian conflict has been revealed piece by piece. Now, with Nicte captured, those chickens have come home to roost. The big question is on whether the general will be able to keep a lid on just how far she went and the fact that her former protégé founded the Spree.

Alder went through a lot of effort to cover up her past with Nicte. Will it all be for naught? Tally has been pulling on that particular string, unraveling the carefully constructed story Alder has kept in motion for years. The general is already in a precarious position with her power as the bells of change begin to ring.

Undermined and losing power, how will Alder react if the truth comes out? Could the witches find themselves in direct path of her wrath? We can’t wait to find out!
