Riverdale season 5 is set to take fans back in time once again, however, the focus this go around is on a young Hiram Lodge…or should we say Jaime Luna?

Before Hiram was a kingpin, he was a scrappy teen itching to make his own way in the world. Money, as any person with a mind for business knows, makes the world spin. It greases the wheels and eases life. But, power, true influence is the difference between getting rich and sustaining wealth.

In  “Chapter Eighty-Eight: Citizen Lodge,” Hiram distills some wisdom to Reggie. His underling, conscripted into his service because of his father’s debt, is aware of the dirty deeds his boss has carried out. Reggie has even done some of those deeds himself.

However, when it comes to the road Hiram traveled to become the man he is, not much is known. Episode 12 of this season is about to change that.

Riverdale season 5 episode 12 serves up Hiram’s origin story

The past is prologue in “Chapter Eighty-Eight: Citizen Lodge” as Riverdale season 5 rewinds the clock and introduces us to Hiram before he established himself as the town’s Big Bad.

Played by Michael Consuelos, Jaime Luna may just have Riverdale fans sympathizing with the Lodge they’ve grown to despise. After all, an origin story even one for a gangster, has the kind of magnetic pull that sucks the viewer in.

However, this is still the show we know and love, so expect over-the-top shenanigans and circumstances starting with Mark Consuelos with a moustache playing Hiram’s father instead of the kingpin himself.

How deep down the rabbit hole will we fall? We can’t wait to find out!
