Best new anime on Netflix: No. 2 Eden

Next on our list of new anime to stream on Netflix is Qubic Pictures’ and CGCG Studio Inc.’s Eden, released in May. Created by American filmmaker Justin Leach and directed by Japanese filmmaker Yasuhiro Irie, Eden is a collaborative science fiction, East-meets-West, 2D-meets-3D, traditional-meets-modern, hand-drawn-meets-computer anime project.

With creative team members in Japan, China, the U.S. and more, Eden is an original story that follows the life of a human girl named “Sara Grace” a thousand years after humans disappeared from Earth. When a baby Sara is discovered in a city called “Eden 3” by two artificially intelligent maintenance robots–whose masters have long since disappeared–the robots decide to raise the child as their own in a secret haven.

But as Sara grows up, her curiosity about her identity, humanity’s past and Eden 3’s anti-human robot ruler spark a revolution neither she nor her robot family were prepared for.

Best new anime on Netflix: No. 3 Trese

This dark fantasy, horror crime anime is a Netflix anime you do not want to overlook. Directed by, Jay Oliva, Tim Divar, David Hartman and Mel Zwyer, Trese is a Philippine television series based on the Filipino komik series of the same name by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo.

Released globally on Netflix in June, this anime follows detective Alexandra Trese, who assists local law enforcement in solving supernatural crimes in the Philippine capital, Manila. With the help of her two magic-powered bodyguards and often untrustworthy but highly useful friends, Alexandra struggles to maintain the peace between Manila’s human citizens and sinister beasts in the wake of her parents’ deaths.
