The 10 greatest Hugh Jackman movies of all time (so far)
9. Deception
Original Release Date: Apr. 25, 2008
Box Office Earnings: Making $17m back of its $25m budget worldwide, this movie was most definitely a financial flop.
Critical Acclaim: While Jackman shows off his talents for another type of role, the movie was not a critical hit. In fact, it’s not even a hit with the majority of audiences. Does that really mean it’s not one of Jackman’s best roles though.
About the Role: In Deception, we see Hugh Jackman take on a vastly different role to most others you’ll see him in. He is Wyatt Bose, opposite Ewan McGregor’s Jonathan McQuarry. Wyatt is a lawyer at the same law firm as Jonathan, but with a past time that shocks Jonathan. Wyatt enjoys time at an exclusive sex club.
This character clearly has more secrets. Wyatt takes us and Jonathan on a wild ride, one that will stick with you for some time afterward.
Simply the Best: While the movie isn’t outstanding, this is a chance to see Jackman as someone else. We’re used to seeing him play the hero. During Deception, we get the chance to see him as the antagonist. You’ll never look at Jackman in the same light.
