Shang-Chi movie age rating: Is the Marvel movie appropriate for kids?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and fans couldn’t be more excited. Are you watching the movie with fellow Marvel fans or family? Is the latest Marvel movie even appropriate for kids?

Black Widow premiered not too long ago, but it opened in theaters as well as on the small screen via Disney+’s Premier Access. Shang-Chi, however, is going to be a movie theater exclusive.

The movie may go to streaming sooner than later, though, you can learn more about that, HERE. Until then, you’ll need to purchase your movie tickets to watch Shang-Chi on the big-screen, but will you be getting a movie ticket for the kiddos, as well?

Is Shang-Chi safe for kids to watch?

I believe you and you alone know your kids best! You know what they are able to handle, if they understand bad language isn’t right, and are okay with some violence. As a parent myself, all I can do is offer suggestions and what I know about the movie.

I haven’t watched the movie myself yet, but fellow FanSider Mia Johnson caught the screening of it and I asked her thoughts on my 7-year-old Marvel fan watching it.

The movie is rated PG-13 for sequences of violence and action, as well as some language. Mia shares that the language is not excessive, and the violence and action is what you expect from an MCU movie.

Since my kiddo has watched most MCU movies, including Endgame, I’ll be taking him to watch it this weekend, and you should too! I don’t however, believe kids under the age of 6 or 5 will be enjoy or even sit through a Marvel movie. For the younger kiddos, there’s PAW Patrol.
