I don’t know much, but I know I love you, I mean, I am talking about our readers, but I am also talking about the weekend. It has arrived and we share a list of the best new movies to watch in theaters and films available on streaming services you don’t want to miss.

One of the positive things about streaming platforms releasing brand new movies each week is that there are weeks (like this one) where the in-theater slate isn’t that strong. So, instead of paying top dollar for a movie you don’t like, you can check out one on a streaming platform and if you don’t like it, you can turn it off..

With that being said, it can be a bit of a struggle finding out what is coming out each week and we try to make your weekend just a little easier by providing you with a quick list of new movies coming out this weekend, below.

We’ve got a kid becoming his one true self, an old Spider-Man back on the big screen and a Clint Eastwood making his return.

Check out the movies available this weekend, beginning Sept. 17, 2021.

New movies to watch in theaters to watch this weekend

  • The Eyes of Tammy Faye
  • Cry Macho
  • Cop Shop
  • Blue Bayou (Limited Release)
  • The Nowhere Inn (Limited Release)

Since I first saw this trailer, I couldn’t believe that Tammy Faye was Jessica Chastain. She is fully immersed in the role, with some calling it one of the year’s best performances. However, she isn’t the only one getting praise, Andrew Garfield has been getting some raves for his performance, which as a big supporter of the ‘Garfield is underrated’ team, excites me. Although it is a limited release, I highly recommend seeking this one out if you can.

New movies to stream from home this weekend

  • Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (Prime Video)
  • Cry Macho (HBO Max)
  • Nightbooks (Netflix)
  • Riders of Justice (Hulu)

One of my favorite movies of the year is finally hitting Prime Video on Friday. I saw Everybody’s Talking About Jamie a little over a month ago and was simply blown away by how good it was. Max Harwood gives a star-making turn as Jamie, a kid who realizes he wants to come out as a drag queen at prom. The music is fun, the cinematography is gorgeous and the story is beautiful.

What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
