NCIS season 19, episode 2 did not pull any punches when it returned for another gut-punching episode. The story continued Gibbs’ arc as he worked to find the serial killer that blew up his boat. Plus, we got to meet the FBI Agent Alden Park for the first time.

Right away, the team was able to figure out the man’s location thanks to the fitness app his latest victim had that tracked her jogging patterns. But despite finding out where he lives, he is able to escape before NCIS can catch him.

They also realize someone is following him and at first, they believe he has a partner. However, it turns out to be Agent Alden Park, who is working undercover on the investigation into the killer as well. Eventually, he joins the team on the hunt, but he does not want Gibbs to be part of it.

Vance tells him that despite the suspension, Gibbs will be present and they all need to work together. It makes sense that Park doesn’t know Gibbs and all he knows is that the suspended agent became a victim of the killer’s. But the team will work together as one unit.

NCIS Season 19, Episode 2 finds a twist in the hunt for a serial killer

Thanks to surveillance cameras, the team does end up finding their man, whose real name is Paul LeMere. But everything about this case felt off. It was almost too easy that they found him so easily. For a moment, Jessica lets her guard down by turning away from him in interrogation and he escapes.

Despite the agents trying to catch him, he ends up pulling a knife on Kacie in the main office, but Gibbs arrives to shoot him.

Even though this was a traumatic moment, we know by now that LeMere isn’t just some serial killer. He has been paid to kill someone every 100 days. Apparently, there might be a connection to a group known as Navis Ventures, but no answers are provided before he makes his getaway.

As harrowing as the episode was in this arc, we got to see Jessica continue to integrate herself into the team. Nick, however, goes overboard by trying to put her things where Bishop’s desk is, moving her into a space she isn’t ready for.

After getting upset with him, Jessica tells him that she needs space before coming into the team that closely, which is understandable. Plus, he did get overzealous and does need to respect her boundaries.

So now we know how FBI Agent Park has joined the team. Will he learn to work with Gibbs or will they be foes, especially after what happened at the end of the episode? We’re looking forward to seeing what comes next for the team.
