What it’s about: Bakers compete to show that they are the best bakers in the country. They’re given a number of tasks to complete each episode, giving them a chance to show off all their skills.

This isn’t like Nailed It!, which has the comedic element and is certainly on this list of best reality TV shows. It’s a serious competition, involving a range of types of desserts and food items. The bakers aren’t just kept in the kitchen, either. There are rounds place outside to put on lavish events, which puts on the extra pressure.

The series is called The Great British Bake Off in the UK. When it came across the seas on Netflix, it was renamed The Great British Baking Show.

Why it’s one of the greatest: This is one of those shows that offers a look at how baking is done. We all see the finished product, but do we actually understand the work that goes into the cakes, the desserts, and more? If we did, we’d likely appreciate it a lot more.

The series also offers bakers the chance to achieve their dreams. It’s a competitive world, and sometimes, you just need that little boost to get ahead, and The Great British Bake Off offers that help.
