Don’t fall asleep this October or else Freddy Krueger may haunt your dreams in the legendary slasher film, A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Ever since his debut onscreen, Krueger has struck fear into anyone who watches his movies especially children. From his burnt skin and creepy smile to his bladed glove, Krueger is one of the most famous villains of all time.

A Nightmare on Elm Street tells the story of four teenagers who are haunted by Krueger, a former child murderer. Krueger was murdered by parents living on the same street as the four teenagers. Now, he seeks revenge in the form of killing his victims in their sleep, which results in their death in real life.

A Nightmare on Elm Street stars Robert England as the iconic Freddy Krueger. Heather Langenkamp plays Nancy Thompson, who became the “final girl” in the film. Rounding out the cast are John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, and a young Johnny Depp in his first feature film role.

With Halloween at the end of the month, many horror fans will be seeking out A Nightmare on Elm Street on television and streaming services. Where can you watch this cult classic?

A Nightmare on Elm Street streaming details

The easiest way to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street is to stream it on HBO Max. However, the film is available  to rent on services such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Vudu.

If you have cable, A Nightmare on Elm Street will make a few appearances on the SYFY network. So far, the film is scheduled to air:

  • Saturday, October 2 at 11:00 PM
  • Sunday, October 3 at 2:00 PM
  • Sunday, October 9 at 2:00 AM

All times are in Eastern Time.

Unfortunately, there are no other times scheduled on cable networks, but expect the film to air as Halloween approaches.
