Watch: The Polar Express

For the whole family? This is definitely a family-friendly movie.

What it’s about: The Polar Express is a movie based on the book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg. It tells the story of a journey to the North Pole, starting with one young boy who no longer believes in Santa. While there is one boy who is the initial character that introduces us to the world of the movie, we get to know others along the way.

We see the characters head off on a journey of discovery and learning. It isn’t just about seeing that Santa is real, but about a group of children learning more about themselves and how they can be better people in the future.

Why you should watch it: This is certainly one of those movies that has some excellent messages behind it. For one boy, it’s about believing. For one of the girls, it’s about standing up as a leader. This is a great movie if you’re looking at helping your children learn a little more than just the initial magic of Christmas.

There are many more reasons to watch the movie, though. It’s so beautifully created with book-like animation. We have Tom Hanks voicing no less than six different characters, and there’s the adventurous journey that we are taken on throughout the movie. This is one of those Christmas movies and shows that everyone will enjoy from start to finish.
