Sonic 2 full cast: Who voices the characters?

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has added a new cast member to bring a beloved character to life! Colleen O’Shaughnessey will be voicing Tails in Sonic 2. Where else have you heard the voice actress’ voice and who else will be starring in the movie?

Long gone are the days when Sonic struggled to capture our attention. Well, that’s not necessarily true. The movie had our full attention, but it wasn’t in a positive way. Let’s just say the worries about how Sonic would look like are long gone and the movie quickly became a hit and instant favorite everywhere. I should know, my kids have watched the movie over 100 times!

On Dec. 7, 2021, voice actress Colleen O’Shaughnessey shared on Twitter that she will be returning to voice Tails in Sonic 2. 

Who is voicing Tails in Sonic 2?

Colleen O’Shaughnessey is not new to the game. In fact, she’s no stranger to the Sonic franchise. Colleen has been the voice of Miles “Tails” Prower in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise since 2014. Needless to say, fans of the character and universe were hoping Colleen would be the one to bring Tails to life (again) in the upcoming movie.

In addition to voicing Tails, Colleen has been the voice of Pickles from Doc McStuffins, several characters in the Scooby-Doo franchise and Toy Story 3, and is Ino Yamanaka in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, this are only a few of her projects.

Who is voicing Knuckles in Sonic 2?

The iconic Knuckles the Echidna will be voiced by the great Idris Elba.

Who is voicing Sonic in Sonic 2?

Ben Schwartz (who brings Sonic to life in such a brilliant and unforgettable way) will return to voice Sonic the Hedgehog.

Who else is starring in Sonic 2?

• James Marsden as Thomas Michael “Tom” Wachowski
• Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski

• And Shemar Moore whose role is still under wraps!

As soon as we get more updates on the upcoming movie, we’ll update this post! The sequel is set to premiere in theaters on April 8, 2022. No word (yet) on whether or not the movie will also get a streaming release.
