Come From Away

If I had to pick one piece of movie or TV show that surprised me, Come From Away would be it. Nothing impresses me more than going into watching something and coming away wanting to find out more and more details about the show.

The Broadway Musical is based on the true story of the 7,000 people stranded in a town called Gander, Newfoundland, after all the flights were grounded on 9/11. It blew my mind that this story has flown under the radar for so long.

The broadway play is infused with emotion, inspiration and some remarkable stage production. As we watch the performers reenact the story, we see the layers peel back on how this truly became one of the more beautiful pieces of history we had yet to see.

I highly recommend checking out this musical because it gives you so much hope in a time where we need it the most.

The Problem with Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart has never shied away from anything in his career, but I think his latest work with Apple TV+ might be some of his best. I am blown away when we see stars use their power for good. For example, we recently saw Stewart take the stand and help the 9/11 first responders get what they deserved. He elevates the countries ‘ issues within his new series and doesn’t shy away from any topic.

From war to freedom to economy to guns, Stewart tackles it all. However, some of the best work we have seen within the series was him challenging congress members on their outlook to help our veterans receive the health benefits they deserve. I always felt like we don’t have enough people asking or demanding answers from our politicians, Stewart pushes the boundaries in a way we have yet to see on TV and for the better.

You don’t always have to agree with Stewart’s opinions, but his work shows that he cares about what is ahead for the country.
