Spoilers ahead of Riverdale season 6’s “Rivervale” event

Riverdale season 6 concluded its five episode miniseries, “Rivervale,” with a bang thanks to the show’s 100th episode, “The Jughead Paradox.”

It was a milestone that left us seeing double with more than one character thanks to the degradation of the tenuous bubble that had kept Riverdale and Rivervale from integrating.

In the midst of impending calamity, there were suddenly two Jughead Joneses working together to execute a plan that would keep Riverdale and its parallel universe in existence.

As many fans know, Cole Sprouse is a twin. He and his brother, Dylan, have played the same role before which identical twins working in Hollywood often do as child actors.

They’ve also starred opposite one another, so seeing two Jugheads in one episode has left some wondering if Riverdale‘s 100th episode saw Dylan making his Riverdale debut. Here’s what we know!

Is Dylan Sprouse in Riverdale season 6?

No, that wasn’t Dylan acting opposite Cole in “The Jughead Paradox.” Both Jugheads in the episode were played by Cole as they have been since the “Rivervale” event started.

What’s great about TV magic is that through clever camera work and seamless editing, any actor can play a double of themselves that interacts with the character they normally play. It’s always a bit of a head trip for the audience, but it never fails to amaze and delight.

Still, it’s understandable that fans of the Sprouse brothers want to see the two of them again on-screen. However, Cole did shut down the possibility of Dylan having a Riverdale guest spot in 2017. He told Glamour there’s zero chance it would happen.

"I wouldn’t want it, Dylan would never do it, and I think it would break the fourth wall too much. A lot of my fans from the Suite Life still come up and say, “This would be fun!” I think it would just be silly. It would be super, super weird and totally not appropriate. I also just don’t think Dylan wants to; to be honest, I wouldn’t want to either. People want to see us onscreen together again, and that’s fine. That’s flattering, I guess. But if it’s going to destroy the kind of world that we’ve built [on Riverdale], it’s wildly inappropriate."

Granted, this was four years ago and their opinions on the matter could have changed, but it’s unlikely. As such we may never see Dylan Sprouse on Riverdale.
