Farrah Abraham remembers devastating death in Instagram tribute

Former Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham might not have the fanbase she once did, but those who followed her journey on the MTV reality franchise from start to finish remember one traumatic experience she went through months before her daughter was born.

The father of Farrah’s daughter Sophia, Derek Underwood, tragically passed away at the age of 18 back in 2008. Teen Mom fans will remember he got into fatal car accident which also killed the passenger.

Both 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom documented Derek’s death and how Farrah dealt with such a huge loss. Now, all these years later, she’s still taking the time to pay tribute to her baby daddy on the anniversary of his passing.

As reported by The Sun, the 30-year-old took to Instagram this week to remember the “love of [her] life,” Derek. She shared a video at his headstone with the song “Therapy” by Peytan Porter playing over it. In her caption, Farrah noted she’s “grateful” to see the word “father” on Derek’s headstone 13 years later.

While Farrah is known to get her fair share of backlash from the Teen Mom community, this post received tons of supportive comments. But while many showered her with love, there were some haters chiming in. One person accused Farrah of trying to “get some sympathy,” while others questioned why Sophia didn’t take Derek’s last name.

Despite the hate Farrah inevitably receives on almost every Instagram post, we know she’s thinking of Derek at this time and likely not paying attention to the negativity. It’s been no doubt an extremely difficult loss to work through, and no one should judge her for that.

Sophia also shared a touching tribute to her late father on Instagram, keeping her caption short and sweet.
