Among all the main characters on the long-running sitcom Friends, each has their own unique style which has been emulated for years. Every Halloween, fans dress up as one of the members of the Central Perk friend group, and the outfits Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) and Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) rocked on our screens have fully made a comeback in modern fashion.

Although Aniston later came out and revealed she actually hated Rachel’s iconic hairstyle, we’re sure she looks back at some of her character’s fashion choices warmly. But what about another part of Rachel’s style that many might not have noticed? Apparently, her nipples have been a topic of conversation over the years, with viewers wondering why Rachel seemingly didn’t wear a bra very often.

Did Rachel Green go braless on Friends?

Well, Cosmopolitan UK recently unearthed a 2017 Vogue interview with Jennifer Aniston, where she was asked on her opinion of Rachel’s risky looks. Apparently, a rumor went around years ago that the actress even had wardrobe cut holes in her bras, while some believed Friends producers enforced a no-bra look. It looks like neither of those rumors are true, however.

Aniston herself cleared up all the rumors and gave her own explanation. When she was asked about Rachel Green being the OG of the #FreeTheNipple movement, the star replied:

"Yeah, I don’t know what to say about that! It’s just one of those things, I guess. I wear a bra, I don’t know what to tell ya! And I don’t know why we’re supposed to be ashamed of them—it’s just the way my breasts are! But hey, OG, I’m not going to complain!"

Aniston certainly has a great outlook on the topic. It might seem like a strange thing for viewers to be stuck on, but I suppose when you’re obsessed with a show, you notice everything about the characters!

To rewatch Friends and admire the many fashionable looks, all 10 seasons are now available to stream on HBO Max.
