Pam & Tommy: Did Sebastian Stan really go full frontal in the Hulu series?

Pam & Tommy is shaking things up on Hulu, something we knew it was going to do based on what the miniseries is about, but we really had no idea what we were in for! Something that jumped at us right away (pun absolutely intended) are Sebastian Stan’s nude scenes, which begs the question, is that Sebastian Stan‘s real penis on Pam & Tommy?

The new Hulu biographical drama follows Pamela Anderson (Lily James) and Sebastian Stan’s (Tommy Lee) rocky and toxic relationship, focusing on the unauthorized release of their private sex tape. That alone tells audiences that this isn’t a show for kids, or even older teens. It is rated TV-MA for a reason! And one of these reasons is nudity. A whole ton of it. Am I surprised? Not really, not by the fact that there is plenty of nudity, but you can’t tell me you weren’t caught off guard by a talking penis!

Did Sebastian Stan really get naked in Pam & Tommy?

Now, of course, the talking penis isn’t real. And Sebastian Stan did warn us it was coming, most of us just forgot. In an interview with Variety, Stan shares how this wild scene “might be a first [for television].” He also shares that “there was gentle pushback, because you’ve got to push back a little when a talking penis is presented to you. But Hulu was extremely supportive.” The penis is voiced by actor Jason Mantzoukas.

Director Craig Gillespie also commented that shooting the scene was “just awkward.” The director continues:

"“You’ve got four puppeteers working with an animatronic penis, and then, how much is too much, and do you start to lose his emotional torment of what’s going on? Hopefully it works.”"

Now, the talking penis isn’t real (obviously), but what about the other nude scenes? There aren’t any reports revealing if that’s Sebastian Stan or not, we may see reports surfacing in a few days once the series has been on the platform for a while. But my guess is that it’s not. I just don’t see Stan willing to do that much nudity. But hey, who knows! As soon as we get the naked truth, we’ll update this post!
