The Girl Before season 2: Is the HBO Max drama getting a second season?

 The Girl Before are now streaming on HBO Max. If you quickly binged the episodes and are wondering if there will be more, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s what we know about The Girl Before season 2.

The new HBO Max series gives audiences a lot to unpack. We can best describe the unsettling psychological thriller as a tale of loss and heartache, with a murder-mystery at the center. HBO Max released all four episodes on Feb. 10, but is that all there is? Spoilers ahead!

Is The Girl Before season 2 happening?

The Girl Before stars David Oyelowo, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jessica Plummer, and Ben Hardy, a very talented cast that beautifully portrayed their roles — particularly Hardy, who fooled us until the very end. He played the nice guy well, too well. Audiences didn’t see him being the killer until it was too late. The story is based on JP Delaney’s 2018 novel of the same name and was released on BBC One in 2021. So, to U.S. audiences, it’s a new series, but not to our neighbors up north.

At this time, there’s no confirmation a second season will happen. However, even though the series is not new, it’s not old enough for talks of a renewal to not be a possibility, especially if U.S. audiences show interest. In sites such as IMDb, though, The Girl Before is listed as a “miniseries,” so there are likely no plans to renew it.
