Bel-Air is coming to Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 13! The new original series, based on the viral trailer by Morgan Cooper, re-imagines the hit ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a drama that fully explores Will’s transition from a West Philly basketball phenom to a teen starting over in Cali.

If you’ve watched the original, then you know how the story goes. Will left his city when he got into a fight on a neighborhood court that scared his mother enough to send him across country to live with his uncle and aunt.

While the OG’s theme song is fun to rap along to, it also tells Will’s story in a whimsical fashion that hides the serious nature of his move under a cool, rhythmic bounce. Bel-Air reintroduces that seriousness into the plot whilst also allowing its leads to be funny, find love, and figure themselves out.

The series will make you laugh, but it’ll also put you on edge with some of its more intense sequences. Bel-Air strikes a nice balance of humor and drama as Will is a teenager who just wants to shine, have a good time, and make his people proud whilst also adjusting to a new environment with a social culture he’s not used to and doesn’t wish to conform to in order to fit in.

Here’s more on the series including the official synopsis, cast, and trailer!
