When it comes to movies, animated movies usually get a bad rep. Whether it’s because they’re marketed towards kids or are just seen as something different, it can be frustrating, especially for fans of the genre.

However, there are plenty of animated movies coming out in 2022 that deserve to be noticed and given the credit they’re worth. Whether the film is an original or something based on another property, it’s always nice to see what the film industry is doing, especially when it comes to animation.

With the world seemingly falling into chaos somedays, it’s nice to just sit back, turn on something animated and forget about your problems. It might not solve your problems, but it’ll allow you some time to relax. Considering that most of us are headed back to the theaters, now is the perfect time to check out these movies.

Whether you’re a fan of animated movies or not, hopefully, this list will introduce you to something new or potentially, give you even more reason to actually go see one of these movies or stream them from your home so let’s get into it.

Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse (Part 1) is one of the most anticipated movies this year

The first movie to make the cut had to be Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse (Part 1) which is set to release in October 2022. For those who watched the original film, it’s been a long wait, but one that is no doubt going to be worth it. Considering the success of the recent live-action Spider-Man film, then there’s no way this one won’t be another mega-hit for Sony.

This time, we’re following Miles Morales and his adventures with Gwen Stacy as they travel in the multiverse and team up with some other versions of Spiderman. Honestly, it sounds like it’s going to be just as good as the first installment if not better. The animation is gorgeous, the characters are likable and the last film was both emotional and funny which isn’t an easy feat.

While there aren’t going to be any other sequels on this list, this one had to make the cut because the first movie was just animation at its finest.
