The career trajectory for Jordan Peele has gone from comedy gold to one of the must-see directors in Hollywood. Nope is scheduled to hit theaters on July 22, 2022, so what better time than now to rank all Jordan Peele movies that he has either written or directed.

When you look at actors-turned-directors, not all of them have the range that Jordan Peele has shown. You are talking about a guy that went from writing stuff like MADtv and Key and Peele to Us and Get Out. Two polar opposites side of the film world. I love his body of work and where he has landed and every project has turned into must-see work.

I struggle with the top of this list because I try to figure out which of Get Out or Us is better, but honestly, his writing is incredible across the board. So, I tried my best to rank these films by remembering them the last time I saw them.

Jordan Peele movies ranked

No. 4 Keanu

I have to start with Keanu and for no other reason than the fact that of the four feature films that Peele has written, it is his weakest. With that being said, I do love Keanu. It is stupid, yet so funny at the same time. If I am being honest, I don’t hate the idea of Peele dipping back into this genre in the near future with more experience under his belt.

No. 3 Candyman

Nia DeCosta’s Candyman was one of my favorite Horror films last year. She, Peele, and Win Rosenfield combined to write the screenplay for the film. Some people had issues with some of the structure and the quick ending, but I was on the opposite end of that and thought it was well laid out and the third act was incredible. For me, Peele had a hand here, but DeCosta hit the long home run with her work behind the camera.

No. 2 Us

I went back and forth on this and landed on Us being a close second. I even think this is a 1a/1b scenario where both films have this incredible storytelling that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I’ll rip the bandaid off by saying that Lupita Nyong’o was flat-out robbed of an Oscar nomination for her dual performance in this film. The film simply doesn’t work without her masterclass of acting. Peele layers this film with beauty and it’s creepy, haunting and devastating all at once. Just talking about this movie makes me want to watch it right now. It is that good.

No. 1 Get Out

The sole reason this film is number one is because of the creative and powerful way Peele used this film to send a clear message. It was crafted in a way that you can’t believe how well it is made. I still think back upon watching this for the first time and being completely blown away by what he did. Another thing that stands out is that upon every rewatch, and you find these easter eggs he planted throughout. Daniel Kaluuya entered into our minds all with his performance and hasn’t looked back. Peele’s Oscar win for this film is still one of my favorite wins of all time.
