Riverdale season 6 has been full of surprises since it premiered its “Rivervale” miniseries. In its five episode run, the event even included an episode where Cheryl Blossom was revealed to have always been her ancestor, Abigail Blossom.

It was a moment that threw fans for a loop. Thankfully, we weren’t actually saying goodbye to the cherry bombshell, however, no one could have expected that a similar plot would begin to play out in Riverdale.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa did say that the events of “Rivervale” would play a part in the rest of season 6, but what happened to Cheryl was still quite the curve ball. Not only did Nana Rose betray her granddaughter in the midseason premiere, but she also orchestrated the events that led to Cheryl being body snatched by Abigail.

What does this mean for Cheryl’s future on the show? Here’s what we know!

Did Cheryl die on Riverdale?

Spoilers ahead of Riverdale season 6, episode 7

We didn’t have to wait too long to see Cheryl again. “Chapter One Hundred and Two: Death at a Funeral” revealed that our girl’s spirit is trapped in Thorn Hill.

She appeared in a mirror before Abigail, but she couldn’t be heard despite her clear distress and desire to be set free. Abigail broke the mirror and said, “We’ll have no more of that,” but we doubt this will be the last we see of Cheryl’s attempts to be returned to her body.

If you were wondering whether or not Riverdale would need to do a resurrection to bring Cheryl back, it looks like that won’t be the case. However, a real banishment is definitely on the table. We’ll keep you posted on more Riverdale season 6 news and coverage. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote!
