WonderCon, the annual entertainment convention in Anaheim, is returning in-person April 1-3 2022 after two years of virtual panels and programming. Disney+, Hulu, AMC, Prime Video, The CW, Warner Bros TV, FOX, and other popular networks are hosting panels with conversations, screenings, and/or Q&A sessions for fans.

It’s impossible to rank which panels at WonderCon 2022 are “the best,” because everyone is going to have their own preferences for which series’ panels they want to attend. However, there are a handful of unique panels that TV lovers should absolutely consider adding to their personal schedules.

If you’re interested in screenings and video presentations that give sneak peeks into future episodes of fan-favorite shows, be sure to check out the WonderCon Programming guide for additional awesome TV content throughout the weekend.

Here are 5 of the TV panels we’re most excited about, and they feature people who work in a variety of roles within the entertainment industry.

5 TV panels not to miss at WonderCon 2022

1 – WonderCon’s “TV Guide Magazine’s 2022 Fan Favorites: Warner Bros. Television Showrunners Edition”

TV Guide is hosting a TV panel that will bring multiple showrunners together to share insight and give behind-the-scenes looks at how they are able to bring shows to life on screen. The panelists have not been announced, they will likely be showrunners from the other Warner Bothers TV series holding panels at the convention (like Kung Fu, Superman & Lois, etc.) If you’re interested in how a show goes from development all the way to its air date, this is a must! The panel is happening in North 200A on April 3.

2 – “Behind the Scenes of The Quest”

One of the very few TV panels at WonderCon to feature an unscripted show, this behind-the-scenes panel features the new Disney+ series, The Quest. This immersive reality series follows eight teens through an epic quest in the fictional world Everealm as they face trials and work to save the kingdom. Several executive producers are joining the panel to share “how they brought a fully realized fantasy world of epic adventure and intertwining scripted and unscripted storylines to life.” If you love the fantasy genre and reality TV like The Amazing Race, you won’t want to miss this discussion. The TV panel takes place at 11am on Saturday, April 2 in North 200A.

3 – “Stranger Things: The Dungeons & Dragons of Life”

This unique panel features an amazing group of Stranger Things fans who are coming together for a meaningful and important discussion at WonderCon. Focused on how the themes of Dungeons & Dragons play a role in the show, the group of panelists are gathering to talk about the “psychology and philosophy of the Upside-Down” and the “relationship between choice and chance” in the series. This Stranger Things panel takes place Saturday, April 2 in Room 213CD.

4 – “Ted Lasso: The Hero to Believe In”

If you love Ted Lasso, you’ll want to plan to attend this panel! Similar to the Stranger Things panel, this Ted Lasso panel will not include any members of the cast or creative team, but rather, this panel will facilitate a conversation that’s a love letter to the series. This panel will be hosted by Jessica Tseang and will include a discussion with therapists, hosts, writers, artists, and TV critics to “explore what makes this series stand out above others.” We can only imagine how the energy in this room is going to feel like one big hug from the Richmond Greyhounds. The WonderCon panel is on April 3 at 11am in Room 207.

5 – “Taking a Behind-the-Scenes Look into TV’s Top Sci-Fi/Fantasy Shows”

If you’re interested in visual and special effects in post production, this is absolutely a panel to add to your list. This panel is set to include filmmakers from the VFX studio Crafty Apes, who have worked on shows like Upload, What We Do In the Shadows, Foundation, and more. Panelists will be sharing “first-hand insights into bringing TV’s top sci-fi/fantasy shows to life through visual effects.” The WonderCon panel is happening Sunday, April 3 at 1pm in Room 207.
