Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils release date confirmed

Are you ready for the second of three Doctor Who specials in 2022? Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils is coming this Easter weekend.

The Doctor, Yaz, and Dan have another monster to take care of. This comes in the form of the second of three specials coming this year, and it’s going to be Jodie Whittaker’s penultimate outing as the 13th Doctor.

As mentioned when the 13th season originally started filming, the pandemic led to some changes. The season was shortened from 11 episodes to eight. That then led to six episodes and two specials. The third special was added in when Whittaker announced her departure from the series.

It’s going to be one hell of an Easter weekend. It’s not all too surprising that the British series is bringing a special at such a big time. After all, we’re used to Christmas and New Year specials before getting into the full season. These are the times of year when a lot of families will gather around the TV together and watch popular shows. Of course the BBC was going to take advantage of Easter.

Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils is coming to BBC on Sunday, April 17. It will air on BBC America in the U.S. and on CTV Sci-Fi Channel (previously Space) in Canada on the same day.

The Doctor, Yaz, and Dan will have to deal with a swashbuckling monster, and yes, Dan will need to dress up as a pirate. The Sea Devils are among the oldest of the Doctor’s adversaries, and we’re going to meet the legendary pirate queen, Madam Ching. She’s searching for lost treasure and there’s something dangerous lurking beneath the 19th-century oceans. It’s sure to be a fun ride for the whole family.
