Picking up right where episode 1 left off, the second episode of The Flight Attendant finds Cassie trying to find some answers.

“Mushrooms, Tasers, and Bears, Oh My!” is all about Cassie trying to uncover who her impersonator is, but of course the show wouldn’t reveal that answer so soon. HBO Max was kind enough to drop not one, but two episodes of the new season on premiere day.

The first two episodes so far have been moving at a good pace. The story is giving us just enough to stay invested, but not dragging on too long.

Here are some key moments from second episode of The Flight Attendant season 2.

The Flight Attendant season 2 episode 2 recap

Is Grace the impersonator?

Cassie tells Annie and Max that her side hustle is being an asset for the CIA. Their reactions are hilarious! She then tells them her theory about Grace and how she thinks her fellow flight attendant may be the impersonator. After some stalking and hanging out with Grace at her apartment, it turns out she’s not who Cassie is looking for. So now, she’s back to square one.

Pro hacker Max works on figuring out what the photos in the View Master, which was one of the items in the suitcase, actually mean. He cracks the code on one them. It’s an extreme close up of a plaque of a statue in Echo Park. As Cassie, Max, and Annie are there the camera pans to a blonde taking pictures of them. Creepy!

One year of sobriety

Cassie’s ever so supportive brother Davey is in town to celebrate Cassie’s major milestone. She’s now one year sober! We find out why the weird girl Jenny in Cassie’s AA group has kind of been obsessed with Cassie. As Davey strikes up a friendship with her, she tells him she’s working on a new true crime podcast about ordinary people who find themselves in deadly situations. I guess she was inspired by Cassie’s story. I don’t know if we can trust her…

Our favorite flight attendant is still going in and out of her Mind World, which now has another addition. We’re now up to three Cassie’s – the teenager, the party girl, and the really sad version of herself in a black shirt. Find a psychologist to dissect all of this!

We do learn that Marco is also a recovering alcoholic. Cassie’s new beau lost his wife and now gets a few visits a year with his daughter. Also Max’s man crush on Marco is so amusing. Anyway, he asks Cassie  whether they should move in together and she kind of avoids answering. She gets an out from the conversation when she gets an important call.

What is happening with Megan?

Megan’s son Eli calls Cassie. It’s been a year since he’s heard from him mom. She sent him a Snap Chat and told him to forward it to Cassie. It’s a bunch of emojis that Cassie can’t decipher. I guess that’s the next mystery to crack going forward.

Suspicious neighbors

Guess who moved in right across from Cassie? It’s Esteban and his wife Gabrielle. The couple who purposefully bumped into Cassie in Berlin in the season 2 premiere. Annie and Max catch Esteban trying to break into Cassie’s house, but he plays it off when he gets caught. This couple is not one to mess with. They didn’t just move in, they forcefully took over the home as we see the nice old couple who are the actual homeowners tied up in the closet.

The Flight Attendant returns next week on April 28 with two new episodes only on HBO Max!
