Monday night’s American Idol didn’t just have a competition between the contestants, there was a bit of a friendly contest between the judges as well. Tonight’s episode also brought on the performances and eliminations. We now have this season’s Top 10.

Some friendly competition took place between the judges. For the first time, the show introduced something new. Each contestant had three songs to choose from, one from each judge. But the Idol hopefuls didn’t know which judge chose which song. At the end of their performances, that was revealed.

The judge whose songs were chosen most became the champ. At the end of the night, there was a clear winner between judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie. And that was… drum roll, please. Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. It was a tie!

But the episode wasn’t just all fun and games. We also had to say goodbye to one singer. So who’s moving on in the competition and who went home?

Who made the American Idol Top 10?

Both of the Platinum Ticket winners are continuing on to the next round. Jay Copeland sang “Lilac Wine” by Jeff Buckley per judge Katy’s suggestion. Huntergirl went with Luke Bryan’s choice of “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton.

Here’s the full list of the Top 10 on American Idol 2022:

  • Christian Guardino, 21
  • Emyrson Flora, 16
  • Fritz Hager, 22
  • Huntergirl, 23
  • Jay Copeland, 23
  • Lady K, 25
  • Leah Marlene, 20
  • Mike Parker, 27
  • Nicolina Bozzo, 18
  • Noah Thompson, 20

Who went home on American Idol?

Lady K and and Tristen Gressett were in the “bottom two.” In a surprise twist, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest revealed the judge who won got a prize. They could save one of the aspiring musicians. Since it was a tie, Perry and Bryan were both able to choose who they would keep in the competition. And that was Lady K.

That means this week the show said goodbye to 17-year-old Tristen Gressett.
