Margot Robbie is definitely a Barbie girl! We have a first look image of the new Warner Brothers film, Barbie, set to hit theaters in 2023. The company shared the news at CinemaCon 2022.

We can expect to see the romantic comedy, based on the toyline we all know by Mattel, in theaters on July 21, 2023. Behind the camera, Robbie also serves as a producer. The movie is directed by Greta Gerwig and co-written with Noah Baumbach.

Barbie is the first live-action film based on the fashion doll after a number of animated films and television series. Filming began in March 2022 and took place in England. Development for the upcoming movie has been in the works since 2014. After company and cast shake ups, the film finally found a home and secured it star-studded cast.

Barbie will be released in theaters only. However, Warner Brothers usually streams its movies on HBO Max 45 days after they’re on the big screen. So there’s a very high chance this will be the case for the pink convertible-riding gal as well.
