May is here! A new month means new offerings on some of our favorite streaming platforms. The selections on Prime Video in May are a mixture of Amazon originals and classics landing on the streamer. For the purposes of our What to Watch list, we have our eyes focused on the original series.

For instance, The Wilds is back. The hit teen drama saw a group of girls stranded on an island together. It seems there’s always something to mine from a Lord of the Flies type story considering Yellowjackets was quite popular as well.

Also on deck is the highly anticipated Night Sky series starring J.K. Simmons and Sissy Spacek. Outer Range just finished on Prime Video, but the streamer will be launching viewers into yet another world-bending series. However, instead of a time-traveling void in a rancher’s western pasture, there’s a passage in a couple’s home that leads to another planet. Trippy!

What else is new on Prime Video? Keep reading for a run down of the new and returning Amazon originals hitting the streamer.

Premiere date: Friday, May 6

This Canadian Amazon original docuseries follows Beverly Lynn Smith’s murder case. Beverly Lynn lived in Oshawa, Ontario with her husband and 10 month old child. Her murder shook her community in 1974 not only because of the violent act itself but also because she was attacked in her own kitchen.

The investigation that followed initially went cold. While a man named Alan Smith, who bears no relation to Beverly Lynn, has always been at the center of the investigation, the case went cold. At least that’s until suspicions rose in 2007 after the results of a polygraph test came in. Alan Smith has maintained his innocence, but he’s still the prime suspect.

The Unsolved Murder of Beverly Lynn Smith is comprised of first hand accounts, family archives, expert interviews, and key participants in the case.
