8. Batwoman

It’s hard to put into words just how hard losing Batwoman after just three seasons feels because the shock of the show’s cancellation is still so fresh.

After a tumultuous start due to the changing of the guard as Ruby Rose departed the series after one season in the title role, the series truly had only just begun to hit its stride following the introduction of Javicia Leslie’s Ryan Wilder in season 2.

Joining a show a season in as its title character is a daunting task and yet somehow Leslie made it look effortless as she introduced viewers to a new protagonist who fans quickly fell in love with. Ryan was a hero we could quickly get behind who had so much heart and whose story had only just begun to be written through the amazing foundation laid across season 3.

What stings most about the Batwoman and Legends cancellations is seeing the amazing representation we’re losing with the end of these two incredible series that actually did dare to defy and gave us heroes we could all see ourselves in.

7. Katy Keene

In this Riverdale spinoff, the action moves from the town of Riverdale to New York City and fasts forward 5 years into the future. The series followed a group of aspiring artists trying to make their dreams come true in one of the greatest cities in the world including fashion designer Katy Keene, singer Josie McCoy, performer Ginger Lopez, and writer Pepper Smith.

The series was the perfect complement to its darker sister series, bringing a lighter tone as a bubbly romantic drama. Unfortunately, it never managed to capture the same viewership totals as Riverdale and met an abrupt end after only one season. It was a true shame as the series perfectly complimented the darker Riverdale and featured an incredible ensemble cast.
