Not too long ago, I was sitting in my living room with Squid, Muscle and Breeze watching the NFL draft, when Squid made an interesting remark. He stated that every year, watching the draft made him think of Kevin Costner’s famous scene in the 2014 movie, Draft Day.

That statement led to a debate about the greatest sports movies of all time, and inevitably Any Given Sunday was included on the list.

When the guys are going through brew after brew, the conversation can often take an unexpected turn. The mention of the movie Any Given Sunday then sparked a debate about Al Pacino‘s greatest performance, which then turned into a debate about Pacino’s most underrated performance.

Two for the Money is an overlooked Al Pacino classic

Hours after the guys had left my living room and headed back to their own apartments, I continued to ponder the question. “What is Al Pacino’s most unheralded performance of all-time?”

After careful consideration, I came to the conclusion that the legendary Al Pacino’s most underrated performance is 2005’s Two for the Money. Not only did Pacino turn in a performance to remember, he was also surrounded by great costars and the movie itself has an interesting plot.

I decided to go back and view the movie again, for old time’s sake and I thoroughly enjoyed it; I would like to share my thoughts. Let’s take a closer look at why Two for the Money is Al Pacino’s most underrated performance as an actor.
