It’s hard to believe that only three episodes are remaining on NBC’s This Is Us. Where has the time gone?

Last week’s episode will go down as one of the most emotional and heartwarming episodes of the series. It was dedicated to Miguel and his story. From humble beginnings in Puerto Rico to eventually becoming the Big Three’s stepfather, Miguel’s journey has been one of many peaks and valleys.

Although Miguel faces discrimination, he finds success in construction, much to the dismay of his father. After burying the hatchet with Rebecca, Miguel marries Shelly, but it ends with two kids and a messy divorce. When his father, Risto, dies, Miguel’s mother reassures her son that he was proud of Miguel and that he will find love again someday.

As we all know, that love was Rebecca, and the two former friends reconnected in 2008, starting a romantic relationship shortly after. In the present day, Rebecca is struggling both physically and mentally. Although Miguel is trying his best to accommodate her needs, it begins to negatively affect Miguel’s health.

After a Big Three intervention, Miguel finally steps back as the primary caregiver in favor of a full-time nurse. Miguel also starts to get the treatment he so desperately needed. However, Miguel’s days are numbered due to heart complications. Kevin makes sure to reconcile Miguel and his estranged son, and Miguel spends his final days with his entire family before passing away. His ashes were scattered in Puerto Rico and at the cabin.
