So You Think You Can Dance season 17 premiered Wednesday, May 18 on Fox.
The dance competition has been missed by fans and dancers alike. Due to the pandemic, we’ve been without the series for a couple of years but now that it’s back, we can fall in love with this inspirational and uplifting contest once again. However, we’ll be missing Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, and Laurieann Gibson who were originally tapped to judge prior to the show being shut down.
The new judges–Stephen “tWitch” Boss, JoJo Siwa, and Matthew Morrison–and host Cat Deely welcomed this year’s hopefuls to the LA auditions where the competition kicked off with more than a few classic and hit songs during the auditions and the contestants’ backstories.
