Over the course of its 47 seasons, there have been many incredibly talented comedians to grace the stage of 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s Studio 8H as members of the Saturday Night Live cast. While some only stick around a season or two, others have had extended runs as part of the cast before moving on to new projects.

Regardless of how long a cast member has been with the show, it’s never easy saying goodbye to anyone when a member of the cast chooses to finally walk away.

Last season, Saturday Night Live lost only one cast member. However, this year is a bit different as the series is about to say goodbye to several veteran cast members. Here’s who won’t be back as part of the SNL season 48 cast.

Who’s leaving Saturday Night Live? (2022)

Saturday Night Live is saying goodbye to four key cast members this year, with several veteran members of its cast departing the show following the show’s 47th season.

Among those leaving the show this year are Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson and Kyle Mooney. The four cast members’ exits were confirmed ahead of the season 47 premiere, which marked their final episode as part of the cast.

SNL season 48 cast

While the official SNL season 48 cast will not be confirmed until closer to the start of the season, the following cast members are all expected to return for season 48:  Aristotle Athari, Colin Jost, Chris Redd, Kenan Thompson, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Ego Nwodim, Alex Moffat, Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner, Bowen Yang, Michael Che, Sarah Sherman, Cecily Strong, James Austin Johnson, Melissa Villaseñor, and Punkie Johnson.

There is a possibility we could see a few cast departures, but at this time no other exits have been announced which suggests that the remaining cast will be back. It’s also likely the series will introduce a new face or two, though we’ll likely have to wait until closer to the season 48 premiere this fall to know who might be joining the cast.
