Will there be a This Is Us spin-off on NBC?

Hey This Is Us fans! How are you feeling? It’s so hard to think that we’ve reached the end of this beloved NBC series.

Last night’s series finale was emotional, and came to a satisfying conclusion. We got one more lovely family day with Rebecca, Jack, and the kids. We also got an idea of what’s next for Big Three and the great things they’ll be doing.

Randall is going to be a grandfather, with his grandson named William after his birth father – aw!). And the almost to last scene was perfect – Jack and Rebecca are officially reunited. And though she’s scared to leave the kids, Jack reassures his wife that she’ll be around for everything that matters.

We’ve known for a long time that season 6 would be the last. The news was announced in May 2021. When creator Dan Fogelman came up with the idea for This Is Us, he envisioned a six-season story arc.

This is the end of an era and the end of this part of the story. But there’s still a lot more to tell with the Pearsons. Could there be more?

Will there be a This Is Us spin-off?

As of now, there are no plans for a This Is Us spin-off. Fogelman told TVLine he’s “pretty set on this being it” and he feels strongly that the stories can be “put to bed now.” Speaking to Deadline, he also mentioned that This Is Us was about the beginning, middle, and end of Jack and Rebecca’s story. And that’s exactly what happened.

Of course I don’t think any fans would object to a spin-off if that ever came down the line. Though Rebecca is now gone, she lives on through her kids and grandkids. They’ve all got a whole life ahead of them too, some of which we’ve seen quick glimpses of. There’s definitely more story to tell, but it seems like at least for the time being, it’s not going to happen.
