New NBC dance competition series Dancing With Myself premiered on May 31, and it’s definitely a show that makes you want to get up and dance along! The cool thing is, you can!

Each episode starts with 12 contestants in the first of six rounds. People from different backgrounds and ages are invited to come on the show and show off their moves. By the end, one person is crowned “Best Dancer of the Night” by the studio audience, and walks away with $25,000.

A part of the show involves the coaches–referred to as creators in the series–designing and demonstrating a series of high-energy dance challenges for the contestants. We get to see that demonstration at home so we can dance along if we want to as well!

So who are the ones leading the dance competition?

Who are the coaches on Dancing With Myself?

Celebrity creators Shakira, Nick Jonas, and Liza Koshy are the ones behind the “judges'” panel. Though they are leading the series, they serve more as advisors than judges. They do have the power to save some contestants at particular points, but ultimately the studio audience gets all the votes. Actress and model Camille Kostek is the primetime show’s host and helps choreograph some of the dance challenges as well.

NBC partnered with Shakira, who also serves as executive producer, to bring the show to life. It was partly inspired by her 2021 music video, “Girl Like Me,” where her fun and easy to follow dancing inspired a dance challenge on Tik Tok that went viral. The global superstar was inspired by the passion for dance that everyday people were doing. And, now they get to do it on a bigger scale and one lucky winner in each episode takes home a cash prize!

Dancing with Myself airs weekly on Tuesdays on NBC. The hour-long episodes are also available to stream the next day on Peacock.
