There isn’t much Jennifer Aniston hasn’t done since her days as Rachel Green on Friends

Following her work on the Emmy-winning comedy, Aniston has gone on to enjoy arguably one of the most successful careers of the core cast starring in some of the biggest movies of the last few decades and leaving a mark once again on the television landscape with her SAG Award-winning performance in The Morning Show.

Among the many credits Aniston added to her resume after wrapping Friends was a series of amazing romcoms including He’s Just Not That Into You, Just Go With It, The Bounty Hunter and Love Happens. Audiences loved seeing Aniston step in as a leading lady in the genre films during a peak time for the genre which has lost momentum in recent years.

Sure, Netflix has become a destination for rom-coms in recent years, but the number of romcoms hitting the big screen with major stars attached in leading roles has gone down significantly. While the genre might have gotten a bad rap these days, Aniston seems eager to do another rom-com and it turns out she already has an ideal leading man in mind to help bring the genre back to the big screen.

Jennifer Aniston wants to do a rom-com with Sebastian Stan

During Variety’s latest Actors on Actors segment, Jennifer Aniston sat down with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan for a candid conversation.

When Stan mentioned his love for the film Notting Hill, Aniston was quick to come to the defense of romcoms as she questioned why they’ve gotten such a bad rap these days. “Why do they have such a bad rap these days?” Aniston pondered before telling Stan, “wouldn’t it be fun to do one?”.

As the pair continued their conversation, Aniston seemed to suggest it’s a thought that’s been on her mind for some time as she quickly tossed out her dream backdrop for a rom-com: New York City!

Stan was quick to second the idea of teaming up for a rom-com to which Aniston professed, “Great. We’re gonna do a rom-com. So exciting. We’re bringing them back.”

While the conversation was all theoretical, we have to confess, the idea of a rom-com set in New York City with Jennifer Aniston and Sebastian Stan as its leads definitely sounds like a box office hit in the making!
