As I sit here and write this, I have the Jurassic Park theme stuck in my head as I am super excited we have come to dinosaur week!
Below, we share the best new movies to watch in theaters and films available on streaming services that you won’t want to miss.
We have a perfect blend of one big and one small release in theaters, a couple of options for us on streaming platforms and we are set for a weekend of films.
June 10 weekend: New movies to watch (and stream) today
- Jurassic World: Dominion, In Theaters
- Block Party, In Theaters
- Hustle, Netflix
- The Janes, HBO Max
The biggest release of the weekend comes in the form of Jurassic World: Dominion. The film caps a trilogy of films that have come out since 2015 and the first since Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in 2018.
The sequel was met with modest reviews after the first was praised by many, much like the original trilogy. I am hoping THIS finale is much better than the one we got in the first trilogy. So far we know that this takes place five years after Fallen Kingdom and will be a battle of whether or not humans and these creatures can co-exist.
The other interesting release is Adam Sandler’s return to Netflix in Hustle. Sandler plays a washed-up basketball scout who discovers a generational streetball player while in Spain. The film also stars Ben Foster, Queen Latifah, and a host of NBA players. The trailer has me intrigued although it does look like it could be kind of cheesy.
Closing out the release of the week is the documentary streaming on HBO Max, The Janes. The story follows the seven women who used code names, blindfolds, and safehouses to build an underground service for women seeking safe, affordable abortions.
What will you be watching this weekend? Will you enjoy a movie in theaters or streaming?
