What is the movie My Policeman with Harry Styles about?

It’s no secret that singer and songwriter Harry Styles is definitely a talent vocally. He’s also managed to prove his talent on the big screen as well! Following his role as the lead in Christopher Nolan’s film Dunkirk in 2017, we haven’t seen much of the star in the movie business.

But this year, he has two new productions coming out! Don’t Worry Darling is making its way to audiences on Sept. 23. And another exciting project is the upcoming Amazon Prime Video movie, My Policeman.

My Policeman stars Styles, Emma Corrin, and David Dawson. The romantic drama is based on the novel of the same name by author Bethan Roberts. The talent behind the camera is director Michael Grandage, with Ron Nyswaner adapting the screenplay.

Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Robbie Rogers, Cora Palfrey and Philip Herd serve as producers. Grandage, Michael Riley McGrath and Caroline Levy are on the creative team as executive producers.

We’ll be able to see it on the big screens for a limited time starting Oct. 21 before it’s added to the streaming service on Nov. 4, 2022. The stellar cast definitely has me excited for the upcoming movie! And we have an idea of what the story is all about.

What is the movie My Policeman with Harry Styles about?

My Policeman is set in 1950s Brighton, England, following the forbidden love story of policeman Tom Burgess (Styles). The government official is gay but living in a society where it’s illegal to be so. He’s forced to repress his true feelings and marries schoolteacher Marion Taylor (Corrin).

However, Tom is also in a relationship with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood (Dawson) at the same time. We’ll be seeing the trio’s younger years, as well as flashing forward to the 1990s where they are still reeling with longing and regret. But now the three have one more chance to repair the damage of the past.
