HBO Max movies and shows to stream the week of June 13
By Sabrina Reed
Unlike last week, the new selection of HBO Max movies and shows to stream is a little light for the week of June 13. There is, however, a remake landing on the platform on Thursday, June 16 that Andy Garcia and Gloria Estefan fans will want to tune into, it’s called Father of the Bride.
If the name sounds familiar that’s because Steve Martin made the comedy a household staple back in the ’90s when he played George Banks, a shoe company owner whose daughter Annie surprises him when she announces that she’s engaged to a man she’s known for three months. The movie itself was a remake of the successful 1950 film starring Elizabeth Taylor.
This updated version of the story follows Billy and Ingrid whose daughter Sofia arrives with her fiancé Adan. He’s a surprise to the both of them and so is the couple’s intent to move to Mexico. What Sofia doesn’t know, however, is that her parents are getting a divorce. Looks like she’s not the only one who can keep something close to her vest until the right time presents itself.
For the kids, Lucas the Spider returns with the second half of its first season. The animated series about a jumping spider also airs on Cartoonito, the young children’s block on Cartoon Network. The 2022 movie, Tom and Jerry Cowboy Up!, is also coming to the platform. Here’s the full list of new offerings on HBO Max this week.
