Five Days at Memorial cast: Who stars in the new Apple TV+ drama?

If you’re a fan of medical dramas, then Apple TV+ has a new one headed our way in August. But what makes this limited series different than the others is that Five Days at Memorial is based on actual events that occurred in 2005.

The upcoming show is an adaptation of journalist Sheri Fink’s book, Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm-Ravaged Hospital. The eight-episode series will illustrate the impacts and aftermath of the 2005 Hurricane Katrina on a local hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Power failure, high heat, and a shortage of food and water are some of the challenges the medical staff will face, while trying to take care of thousands of people in their care. The series is set to premiere globally on Friday, Aug. 12 on the streaming service.

Who stars in Apple TV+’s Five Days at Memorial?

Actress Vera Farmiga leads the medical drama as Dr. Anna Pou. Her co-stars are the following cast members:

• Cornelius Smith Jr. as Dr. Bryant King
• Adepero Oduye as Karen Wynn
• Julie Ann Emery as Diane Robichau
• Cherry Jones as Susan Mulderick
• Molly Hager as Virginia Rider
• Michael Gaston as Arthur “Butch” Schafer
• Joe Carroll as Michael Arvin

The two behind the cameras are Carlton Cuse and John Ridley. Both serve as writers, directors, and executive producers. Wendey Stanzler will also take charge behind the camera as a fellow director.

Deadline reports there will be a total of eight episodes. The premiere on Aug. 12 includes the release of the first three installments, followed by one new episode weekly on Fridays until Sept. 16.
