Barry season 4 to take even more risks and go to dark places

The world of entertainment is finally getting back to normal (or a new normal, rather) after the pandemic shook things up. On July 11, Emmy nominations were announced and there are a lot of strong contenders, including HBO’s Barry and its star, Bill Hader. It’s truly no surprise seeing the dark comedy get nominated, but we’re lucky it made the deadline for Emmy nominations! Will Barry season 4 also premiere in time for next year’s Emmys? What are the plans for the upcoming season?

Deadline reports that HBO’s Barry, as well as The White Lotus season 2, and Succession season 4, will all arrive in time to qualify. We’re excited about all three hit series, but we’re particularly looking forward to the fourth season of Barry as audiences were left with a pretty big cliffhanger. Needless to say, we can’t wait to see what happens next! And if you thought the season 3 events were dark, you haven’t seen anything yet.

Barry season 4 to take even more risks

As the source shares that Casey Bloys, Chief Content Officer at HBO and HBO Max, praised Bill Hader for his wonderful work in Barry as a writer, performer, and director. Seriously, is there anything Hader can’t do?

Now, we’re not sure if season 4 will be the last for Barry Berkman, Bloys didn’t comment on that. However, Bloys did tease that Hader has never been afraid of taking risks and it wouldn’t be surprising if Hader pushes the upcoming season to “places that go dark.”

Darker than season 3? Wow, we’ll be anxiously waiting to learn more and will be sure to update this post as soon as there are more details about season 4.
