Infidelity is deeply rooted in every soap opera, but has The Bold and the Beautiful taken it too far? Eric Forrester is no newbie to being unfaithful. He has had relationships with nearly every leading lady of the show, or so it seems. None will ever be as great as Stephanie Forrester according to the actor John McCook who call his characters late wife true love. We all agree.

John’s character is already infamous for having affairs. His affair with Brooke Logan launched one of the greatest female-to-female rivalries in soap opera history between Brooke and Stephanie for years. Now, Eric has found a new set of circumstances involving two women. Quinn and Donna.

Quinn may have cheated on Eric first, but they did, however, get past it. Even when Eric pushed Quinn back to Carter when he was having problems performing in the bedroom. Things seemed to have gotten back on the right track and even Carter was trying to move on. Unsuccessfully, but trying. Instead of Eric talking to Quinn about their relationship and the future of it, Eric just like Eric does began to cheat on Quinn with Donna. The Logan women strike again. No cheating is ever okay, but the way it was portrayed and written, they are glorifying cheating for the male lead while scrutinizing Quinn for it. It’s not a great look to make it okay for the man, and shameful for the woman.

Is The Bold and the Beautiful sending the wrong message?

To make matters worse, it was Quinn who walked in on them, truly a scene not many of us wanted to see. Despite Quinn’s many faults, I feel she had come a long way with her marriage to Eric. Compared to who she used to be we were seeing a much more toned down and bearable version of her. Some fans do scream karma but when we are talking about the Logan sisters they receive hardly any.

Not far down the family tree you will even find Eric’s son Ridge doing those same things. Though it was Brooke who technically cheated because she went one too many rounds with Sheila, which led to her smooching on Deacon. That put the wheels in motion for Ridge to once again get too close to Taylor. The show dragged out how awful it was for Brooke to succumb to Deacon again yet glorified Ridge who has bounced around like a pin ball between the two women for decades. His own children being cringe match makers for months for their parents. I think the whole world was cheering Taylor on when she finally told Ridge to get to stepping when Ridge chose Brooke for the 80th time.

Now, the Logan sisters are another book in itself. They’ve cheated on their men time after time and it always seems to be okay in the end. It doesn’t matter how many times Brooke cheats, at the end of the day she is still beloved. When will those sisters face any accountability? Between Brooke and Donna they have pretty much gone through all the Forrester men.

Let’s not get it twisted cheating is going on left and right in this drama. Don’t get me start on Paris, but where I draw the line is how it is okay for certain women(of a certain type) to cheat but it’s not okay for others? Then glorifying the cheating of a man but bashing the other side of the marriage for doing the same thing. The Bold and the Beautiful acted as if the reconciliation between Donna and Eric was a match made in the stars that we should all be on board with. However, the message coming across our screens, is if you’re not a Forrester or a Logan, you will face full punishment for all your crimes while they face zero.
