It’s the “sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.” HBO is bringing us a new original series, The Idol, starring Abel “the Weeknd” Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp.

The six-episode show was created by the singer-songwriter, Euphoria‘s creator Sam Levinson, and Reza Fahim. The three also serve as writers and executive producers. Joe Epstein is attached as showrunner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The outlet also reports the showrunner, Kevin Turen, Aaron Gilbert, Ashley Levinson, Nick Hall, and Sara E. White serve as executive producers.

When the series was first announced, director Amy Seimetz was set to take charge behind the scenes and Suzanna Son was one of the actors set to star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. However in April, the network announced there would be a change in some cast and crew due to an adjustment in creative direction. At this time, it’s not clear who from the originally announced cast and crew is still attached to the project.

Though that’s unclear, we do have an idea of what the new series is about. So what can we expect to see in the new HBO show?

The company hasn’t released an official synopsis yet, but we do know The Idol is set in the backdrop of the music industry. It centers around a self-help guru and leader of a modern day cult (Tesfaye). He develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol (Depp).

The teaser trailer offers a first-look at the new series, which includes drinking, dancing, sexualization, and, of course, the two co-leads. A release date for the new series has not been set yet.
